OUR CI FACTORY IN GERMANY
At our CI Factory in Schlüchtern, Germany, STRAUSS develops technologies to advance products and production processes. Among other areas, we explore approaches to reducing resource consumption.
Product development, quality assurance and production are closely integrated here. From the initial idea through prototypes and testing to production approval, new solutions are developed and assessed.

A key element is the STRAUSS Test Center. Using more than 60 test methods, we assess materials, finishes, footwear and other products. These tests help us evaluate quality, fit and durability requirements during product development. This is an important prerequisite for products designed to remain in use for a long period of time.

Since 2019, the Laser Lab & Dyeing House has also been testing and further developing innovative textile finishing and dyeing processes. These include modern laser systems as well as new washing, dyeing and filtration systems. They help reduce the use of water and chemicals and make processes more efficient. For example, the dyeing processes tested in the Laser Lab & Dyeing House require only around one quarter of the water used in conventional dyeing processes.
The CI Factory brings production and technological development together under one roof. Here, we develop and test approaches to further improve products, production processes and quality requirements.

CI stands for Corporate Identity—the way a company presents itself to the public. Individually branded workwear is becoming increasingly important for companies: employees become ambassadors for the business, while strengthening a sense of team identity.
In addition to footwear production, the CI Factory enables the finishing and customization of workwear. This means that smaller companies can also order professional clothing with their own corporate design.
